White Collar, Neal/Peter [unrequited], his charming, easy smile and seemingly permanent good mood? it's just a mask he needs to wear to be able to get through another day.

Let the agents have their guns. Neal has his grin and his words and his perpetual good mood, and that gets him in doors that even badges can't ( ... )

Supernatural, Gabriel/any, at the end of the line when every mask is gone and torn away, who's left to go on?

A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Jack/Neddy, he's never anything but polite, even when he's delivering the subtlest of threats - what happens when Jack stops being polite?

DCU, Jim Gordon, Batman, he knows the man behind the mask, but it's easier to pretend otherwise

Jim Gordon's not a stupid man. He knows sometimes people might think he is: he doesn't cheat, he's clean and he's honest. When she was a little girl, even Barbara would giggle at him before she kissed his cheek.

But the fact is: Jim Gordon is not a stupid man. And he would have to be blind, stupid and dead not to know the truth and he would have to be the worst detective on Earth not to know how to do a proper investigation without anyone else knowing. And even people who consider him stupid, know that Jim Gordon is a great detective.
