His face should hurt. Hell, it should be black and blue and red with streaks of crusted maroon all over it. From what he remembers, he shouldn't be able to see out of at least one of his eyes. And there definitely should not be bird song echoing serenely over the field as an angel who should be dead, but isn't, leans carefully over him
