Raphael pokes the squishy mass with one finger, recoiling when it sinks in.

"And what is the purpose of this 'cranberry sauce'?" Michael asked as he watched the gelled fruit gently swayed.

"Well, generally it is eaten." Castiel said.

"Eaten how?" Balthazar asked as he scooped some on to his plate.

"On the side of the main dish, as part of a sandwhich, mixed into a fruit salad, layered into a parfait..." Castiel is abruptly silenced by the gob of cranberry sauce that Gabriel shoved in his mouth.

"But the best use of cranberry sauce is for a FOOD FIGHT!" He finished with a shout, launching himself into the air as he flung a plate's worth of sauce at Uriel.

It was the most unorthadox battle they'd ever had but it was also one of the most refreshing. It left them feeling exhausted and content in a way they hadn't for a long time.

They spend a long time afterwards lazily grooming the cranberry sauce from each other's feathers and wallowing in the feeling of family.
