A/N: It started out with those lines and ended up in a weird crossover after I figured out they were looking at a device at Wayne Enterprises. Sorry.

“Pepper, what does it do?”

She looked at the strange cylinder taking up most of the lobby of Wayne Enterprises, checking her watch again as she tried not to tap her foot impatiently. That receptionist should have been back by now. They had an appointment. They were supposed to have a guided tour. If someone didn't get here soon, Tony was going to drive her crazy. She was already half there on any given day.

“It doesn't do anything.”

He shook his head. “Impossible. No one puts something that big in their lobby without a purpose. What does it do

Lol, well, Dick got payback for Tony's usual insensitivity, and so did Pepper in a small way, too.

Somehow I think Bruce's arrival would just make things worse. ;)

I had some thoughts for a sequel where Tony is still getting teased about the device, in part because of the whole accidental meta that creeped into this. I had this conversation about Batfamily meeting Avengers family and in it we decided that Dick and Pepper commiserate about their families together and Pepper adopted him as a nephew/younger brother, and he flirts with her in a playful way. So... Yeah, that kind of took over a bit here, but I could see them continuing to tease Tony about stuff like this if Dick and Pepper were friends like that.

Glad you liked it in spite of its divergence.

I would love to see more of that, actually (BatFam+Iron Manfam). It sounds like a horrible mashup I'd adore. :D

I might just end up writing it. I have some ideas, and I am fascinated by the concept, apparently, since I've written their first introduction twice so far. :)

Yeah, he would. Especially if it was in the universe where Dick and Clint are friends and get in a lot of trouble together.
