“Sodding perfect,” Hook mumbled to himself, glancing away from the ever-so-able Prince Charming, though, slowly, his eyes drifted back, making Hook utter another few choice words as he made mental efforts to squash any feeling or expectation of hope that rose up; yet, Hook knew he could not win Charming’s heart like he could easily win in a pirate’s duel (with scoundrel tactics included), nor did he believe Charming would even agree to one in the first place (knowing he would use a pirate’s approach), which left Hook out of options with only silent, unspoken wishings and longings that filled him with utter dysphoria.
