"We will 'check it out'," the angel says - as always, completely unfazed by Dean's unconcealed distrust - and, oh, but Dean is way past cutting her slack because the hot librarian look kind of does it for him.
"We? What do you mean by- Son-of-a-Dean knows what's about to happen - even before Ruby puts her hand on Sam's shoulder, Sammy gives Dean this look of far too little alarm and just a little apology, and the both of them disappear in a flutter of invisible wings.It still pisses him off, though, and he shakes his fists helplessly at the general vicinity of Heaven in the aftermath ( ... )

"Admit it, Dean," Cas says, "you'd rather entrust your brother's life to me - a demon you have a history with - than to an unknown threat like that feathered bitch from upstairs."
Dean takes a step back and scowls, forcing his mind off of whatever drymouth-inducing, perverse feelings he might have, and onto saner thoughts.
Like how they've been over this before. He's not letting Castiel ward Sam away from the angels. No demon's working any sort of mojo on Sam, no matter what the payoff.
Dean points and growls, "Hey. I already told you... I'm not entrusting you with shit!"
Cas raises his hands, as if in a gesture of non-agression, but his tone is anything but conciliatory as he says mildly, "Oh, so you don't want my help figuring out what the angels really have planned for your brother?"
"Besides that!" Dean says, without skipping a beat.
Cas doesn't even flinch at the violence in Dean's voice, the heat in his eyes. He damned near giggles ( ... )
