Hello, everyone. I'm analise010 and I'm still here.

The theme for today is 100 words...or less. Sometimes, we want out ficlets to be short, sweet, and to the point, so the only rule is that fills must be under 100 words.

Sam doesn’t realise that he’s addicted until he and Ruby have their first big fight, that ends with her leaving in a huff.

At first everything’s just fine. He doesn’t need her anyway, so he thinks.

But then the withdrawal kicks in. By the time he realises what it is, it’s already too late. Thirst is clawing up his insides and he’s stalking some black-eyed mook, like he’s a bloody vampire. He doesn’t like it, but he can’t stop either.

Ruby comes to him afterwards; she embraces him as he fights despair. “Shh,” she says. “Sorry. I won’t leave again.”

It's not a physical addiction, not at first-- it's the heat of her, pressed against his body, flaming, scorching, making him forget that this body isn't hers; it's the way the smell of her blood fills his nose and makes his lungs heave with hers, against hers, into hers-- it's the firmness of her movements, the confidence and aggression that he never gets from any of the nice girls he usually prefers-- it's all of that. And then it's the blood.
