"I can't believe I just did that," Smith said, cardboard box in hand. "Quit my job for monster hunting? Craziest thing I've ever done. I tell you, Sammy, you've got a bright future in sales."

"Thought I told you not to call me that." Wesson shrugged on a jacket, covering up that godawful yellow shirt they made the IT guys wear.

"Yeah, whatever you say, man." Smith rolled his eyes. "Where are we headed?"

"Well I've been doing some research," Wesson said, passing over a crumpled digital printout, "and there's this little town about fifty miles west of here that's been having some weird disappearances lately . . ."
