Happy Friday!  As you all know, this is the day we bless the gods of writing by not following a theme and just writing what we want.

All we ask is that you follow our rules:

Firefly, Simon+Any, Simon has to take one of the crew's wisdom teeth out.

Simon found Kaylee on her bunk, curled up, a hot pack under each corner of her jaw. "Hey, are you all right?"

"Toothache, mouth hurts real bad," she moaned.

"Would you like me to take a look?" he offered.

"Yeah," she said, opening her mouth.

He angled her head to catch the light from the ceiling lamp, and gently tugged her jaw open as far as she could. The far corners of her gums looked swollen and red, but the rest of her teeth looked just fine.

"Looks like you have impacted wisdom teeth," he said.

"Is that bad?" she asked, concerned.

"It's not the worst thing that can happen, but those teeth will have to come out," Simon said. "You see, they're trying to grow in, but they're trapped under a thin layer of bone, and if they don't come out, they will get infected and form abscesses and... am I getting too technical?"

"A little. You know what's best, doc," she murmured. "You do what you gotta do, make me better.
