Scott followed the others into the mansion, where there were no kids waiting for them at this hour of the night. He was glad not to face them, when he'd promised they'd bring Jean back home - promised the kids, promised himself - and he'd failed to do it. Scott braced himself and headed upstairs for their empty room.
