Confused?

Hey everyone. I am new to this community and I really needed to join because I needed a lot of questions answered. I am 19 and well last year I finally came to terms that I was gay. It was a hard thing for me to do because my family hates the whole idea. but I decided that it was my decision and they do not need to know anything about this. To this ( Read more... )

You are sort of doing the process by posting in a community like this. Coming out on the internet is good practice for coming out in real life. You fairly recently came out to yourself and think about how long that took. The next steps will take time too. This isn't a race, relax and let be something you feel positive about sharing.

It's always scary when you come out to someone, especially if it's your first time doing so. You're just never quite sure how someone is going to react to the news. Some people seem to fine with LBGT people, as long as its not their kid. Others seem homophobic at first but once they get to know a LBGT person they come around. And of course there will always be the folks that are never are going to accept the LBGT community, for whatever personal reasons they have ( ... )

I know she will accept me. But it is just the fact that I am afraid of how things will change between me and her. As a matter of fact, she has told me several times that if I was gay, she would love me even more. But for some reason I just can't do it. I really should not be afraid of telling her, but something is stopping me.

You know she'll accept you and still love you, but maybe you're afraid she could push you to come out? Or maybe spill the beans by accident?
