I am becoming increasingly concerned about this persistent diarrhoea, which I have suffered now for four or five days. I was up again this morning at 4:30am, then again at 8:00am and 1:00pm. The loperamide is having no affect even taking six capsules a day (the maximum). I have bananas and apples now provided by my neighbour and that's all I have ( Read more... )

can you get hold of some kuzu root starch? a tea of that does the trick every time in my experience. wishing you well

You saay you can't speak to the doctor until the 24th? I believe an emergency call is warranted at this point! I hope they have an emergency number for you!

We have what is called NHS111 - a centralised location. I will be emailing my GP later today with a log of events so far and I will ask her to call me after she receives my email.

That's good. I hope you hear from her quickly. I know there's a medication stronger than Loperamide out there - just can't remember the name of it. Good luck for a speedy recovery!
