Welcome to 2012! Yet another year where we'll be used to writing the new date by December, just in time for it to be 2013. Every year moves faster and faster, and we keep wondering - is this the year we smell the roses? Or do we smell more of the acrid tang of burnt rubber as we drive ourselves ever on toward the fleeting mistress called Accomplishment? In 2012, we're hoping to find a balance.
So it's the first post of the new year, and we thought we'd start with a megamaxicolossal sketchapalooza. Which must mean it's time for the recap of our first-ever At-Home Convention!
Yes, a couple months back we decided to make up the lost income of a convention we didn't get to attend by hosting a con of sorts from our own cozy wee hovel. We sold sketches, prints, comics, all the usual stuff. It was a smashing success that left us incredibly busy and more than made up for the money we'd have taken at Youmacon. We may make this an annual event - but don't quote us on that just yet.
The thing about doing a convention at home is you don't have any neat shenanigans to talk about. We just sat at home enjoying each others company and catching up on TV and news radio while drawing our hands off. So with that, our commentary ends. Enjoy the sketches! (And larger commissions as well!)

Did we say no more commentary? We lied! One last note is that the big upside of doing con sketches from home is we can make them nicer and actually get decent scans of them for our records! So you're seeing real classy digital reproductions here instead of the usual touched-up digital photos we usually have. Enjoy the higher quality!

Up next are a collection of marker sketches ordered as Christmas gifts. The request was for each to feature a friend of his along with different comic characters. The scenarios were up to us - which led to some fun. These were some of our favorite marker works this year.

And we'll finish up with some normal but fun sketches to round out this HUGE drawing-fest of a "convention." It would have been a shocking amount of drawing if we didn't do nearly this much at most conventions we go to. Ha! Several of these have been upgraded to color, and you'll be seeing those as they're completed - but not before we wrap up Rainbow in the Dark #6!

And that's a wrap. Thanks so much to all of you who supported us through 2011, who took us up on our At-Home Con experiment, who gave us your time, your money, your words of fandom and friendship and hope. We can continue on this journey of ours only by the continued support of all of you, and we never forget that.
Thank you all, and may 2012 bring only better and happier days to all of us.
