In a revolutionary new study, scientists have discovered that people who commit suicide have "nearly 10 times higher the rate of methylation -- which shuts down unwanted genes in a cell -- in their brains. It makes sense that stuff like Self-Harm and suicidal tendencies would be genetic to some extent. My father admit to me recently that he had burned himself on purpose before. My Cousin was a self-injurer for many years. My sister would punch things, and mangle her hands. The list could go on, but you get the point.

It really is pretty fascinating to consider the idea that maybe it really isn't my fault that I am so "dark and twisty." I am an organ donor as well, but I don't think my brain would ever be important enough to contribute to any studies. :-)
