Room 402, Tuesday Morning (10/16)

One of the nice things about being a kitten -- and Beauty had discovered quite a few by now -- was that people were warm, and they didn't mind if you slept on them. In fact, they thought it was cute, even if they sometimes tried to pretend otherwise. So kitten!Beauty had fallen asleep last night curled up in a ball with her head tucked up under A.J ( Read more... )

Sleep was a good thing; usually, especially if he'd been running the day before, A.J. didn't particularly like it when his sleep was being interrupted by that whole waking up thing that tended to happen, but there were also times when he didn't mind it one bit. Times when there was cuddling involved, which was getting to be more common, so he didn't even think about it when he shifted a little closer to the form next to him, dropping his head lightly against the mass of hair under his chin. Mmmm, smelled a little different, but still nice, and his hazy, half-asleep self wrapped his arms a little bit around the receiver of his snuggling. Felt a little different than what he was used to, too, which brought him enough out of his cloud to realize that, hey, there was a pretty girl in his bed. Not just any pretty girl, but Beauty, who had been a kitten probably just hours ago. She looked like she was still asleep, though, and (which made him smile lightly, sleepily) content, so he didn't want to disturb her at all. Only lifted a ( ... )

Troy frowned softly, still asleep; there was something in his dream that was bothering him. Slowly, slowly, he began to come awake.

Which is when he looked across the room, and say that, oh, look, it wasn't a dream. "A.J...." he said softly, uncertain how to react to seeing his... roommate... in bed with someone else, even knowing that she'd been a kitten not long ago.

Oh, that annoying bit of hair was gone now, that was nice. Beauty smiled a little in her sleep. There were arms around her too, and that was an unfamiliar sensation, but again, a very nice one. Consciousness kept nagging at her, along with the idea that there was something she ought to be taking notice of, but at the moment she couldn't imagine what, and so continued to ignore it.

After a bit, though, her eyes fluttered open and she blinked sleepily, slowly taking in the fact that the room looked somehow different than it had for the past several days. And that someone had spoken A.J.'s name, although her muzzy brain took a moment to figure out that it had to be Troy, and then she simply made a kind of soft "mmph" sound.

A.J. was just in the process of giving Beauty a dorkily happy, soft smile as he watched her eyes opening, the beginnings of a sleepily muttered "Hey, you," when he stopped, hearing his name, but definitely not in Beauty's voice, coming from the other side of the room, where...

...oh. Any expression dropped completely off A.J.'s face, his eyes, still on Beauty although definitely not thinking about her at the moment, wide. He bit his lip and the pale was replaced by red. This was...a bit....awkward now, wasn't it? Which sucked, because it had started out so nicely, but, yeah, he imagined it probably wasn't looking too good to the person he was usually sleeping with that here he was, cuddling (and really liking to cuddle) with someone else in their room. Even if it was an accidental sort of cuddling.

"...Um..." A.J. shifted a little, rolling a bit away from Beauty to look more toward Troy. "...uh....morning?"

Oh, he was so going to get something thrown at him, wasn't he? Shit.
