"Hey, Doyle!" I said, when collecting my son from downstairs, after he was being dropped home from school. "Mummy downloaded a new episode of Roary the Racing Car for you."
hehehe that was totally what I had in my head, too, when I was telling him that. I wasn't much older than him when I first started writing fanfiction XD
Ahahahaha. He hasn't seen Black Adder yet. I haven't seen much of it myself. We can watch it together!! I would not have a problem with him writing such things... >.>
Teehee. Yeah, I used to write stories with my favourite characters when I was only a little older than him, too. I don't remember how encouraging my parents were on that particular aspect, but I do like to nurture his creativity :)
Don't tell anyone (you know, except for the people who might read it on the Internet), but the first story I ever wrote was Mary-Sue-style, Top Gun fan fiction.
Yes, the twisted fingers of Ronald Reagan and Tom Cruise massaged my brain at that age. I'm just glad I grew out of it.
Again, with the admiration for Doyle's writing. He rocks.
And I thought you showed such patience and loved how you helped him get over his disappointment!
(BTW, I love dirtgirlworld too... I think I love it more than S and T! I pretty much just want to live in it. If all the plants were real, that is. And I could get rid of the annoying grub.)
I'm pretty certain he writes better than I did at that age!
Aww! It only lasted the span of a 19 floor lift ride. I'm not sure that much patience is required. Last night I showed more as he was crying from being hurt and wouldn't calm down. Poor boy. Anyhow, I just see it as the least I can do as a parent, since I love him so much.
You know, I don't think I've even seen a full episode. There are parts of it that kind of freak me out. But given you're into gardening, I can see why you would love it :)

On the other hand, this is a really clever way (maybe not the slash part) to nurture creativity. YAY!
