Well, madam, that would differ on which aspect you are inquiring about. Physically I am well, but surely one would be bothered upon his sudden arrival to a place unknown to him, especially when he had no recollection of being taken hostage.

Adstringendum - a Latin word for compression. Interesting name.

It's a fitting name for this place.

Of course. Who named the place, scientists?

[Oh, why not. He gets straight to the point, realizing the man will probably appreciate that.]

This world is Adstringendum, a failed science experiment. The going story is that some scientists in some world were attempting to control time and space, and failed somehow, creating a rip. Now all worlds, realities, and times are being compressed into this single space. It randomly compresses and decompresses. As of yet, there's no known way out.

[Pause, as if he's deciding what is the most useful information to have.]Most of the people here are kind and generous, but we have our share of troublemakers. A good deal of us have supernatural powers of some sort. Not everyone is human ( ... )

Yes, I do have several to ask -

The scientists claim that they ignore us most of the time. At what situations, exactly, did they offer help or anything else to the rest around? Assuming that these scientists are finding out a way to remedy this problem, they must have a location where they work - where is this place? Finally, does anyone know the identities of these scientists?

And of course, the Animus - their presence intrigues me. Were they created the same time this world was, or did they exist long before and simply claimed reign? What exactly do they sound like? What exactly happened to any operation against them?

Finally, what laws of science can be applied in this city?

[Ever since he was a boy, books had been his means of escape and he devoured every single one he could get his hands on, committing what was inside of them to his memory so he would have something to think on when things got... out of hand. To say that he was surprised at the familiar pattern of speech was an understatement.

Nope, impossible, characters from books did not come to life. Yet he was still staring, quite shocked at his PCD screen.]

[ oh yes, he knew that stare. the doctor's published works were good in the sense that they brought in clients, yet not to extent that he receives even the absurdly simple cases - he was just the last resort after all, leave the easy work to the scotland yard! still, his popularity was quite growing, something he actually quite enjoyed. ]

One of Dr. Watson's readers, I presume?

I suppose one could view it that way, yes...

And so we have discovered the obvious. Excellent work.

Several have informed me that the name is Adstringendum. Since several people have arrived here, a civilization was already formed and so several important places have been established. One asked for my well-being earlier, so it would be safe to say that most of the new people are injured in some way. Ergo, due to the demand, at least one hospital or clinic has been active in the area - I suppose most people are recommended to go there first.

There are, of course, other possible areas to stay - as the area is still partially deserted, the would be little to no economy in here, and so everything - including empty houses - is free to claim, as long as its original owner no longer cares for it.

As for the possible dangers - both crime and wildlife are common in half-established cities, especially when no unifying law exists.
