I just have really picky tastes. I'm the same way with books. Half the movies on this list that I have seen were because my parents made me watch them.
....Plus I'm a sucker for the really creepy/weird/innovative stuff. I love things like Cloverfield, Pi, and really old sci-fi movies. And non-kiddy animation (as seen in my post on WALL-E).
