Ok.....So, let's try and get a little organized! :D
If you are planning on attending the lurch, please comment here!
We will meet in the parking lot at High and Fourth at around 7pm on August 5th. Remember - this is a Gallery Hop night, so parking will be scarce, but the buses will be running and there's a stop right by the parking lot. Afterwards, you're free to go on your way, or maybe we'll stop and have something yummy to eat in the Short North. We'll figure that out then.
Costuming: You can pretty much wear whatever you want. A great idea is to go to a thrift store and pick up some clothes there that you can trash - roll in dirt, get fake blood on, without ruining anything you really like. Girls, let your hair go wild.
Makeup: White powder with dark circles under the eyes always works. Karo syrup (light!) and red food coloring makes great stage blood (and good on pancakes!) If you want to get more fancy, you can go to places like Costume Holiday House (in Bethel Center) or probably Yankee Trader to get masks and/or latex appliances to make wounds. I do have some experience with applying those and would be willing help with some simple applications. I'm sure there will be other people who could help too. Very important to have face powder though and to set it! I will bring a spray bottle of water for setting. If you want to meet at ~4pm at the Ohio Union, we can gather to help each other with makeup and such - there's a parking garage that can be used and it's right on the bus line, if we then wish to take the bus to the meeting place. The union closes at six, so we can then either continue outside or start making our way to the meeting place.
Slogans: Make signs! Demand Zombie rights! examples are:
The undead are people too!

I spoke to the police and besides completely befuddling the police officer at first when I was trying to explain what would be happening, he said it should not be a problem whatsoever. *L* Just remember, if an officer of the law comes up to you and asks you questions, it's time to break character and let him/her know what's going on and it's all in good fun. Attitude goes a long way in dealing with law enforcement. Again, we're going to be in the Short North and the gallery hop, so I don't anticipate anyone getting freaked out, but just remember, even though you are playing a zombie, you are not really one!
Bring cameras!
Have I forgotten anything else? Let me know in a comment, and I'll add it to this post. :) If
sadslackerwants to make a similar post for counter-protesters, that would be great.
Remember, pass the message on to other columbus area LJ/myspace groups, your friends, family etc. Children are welcome, at the parents' discretion as to whether they'll be freaked out :)
