Another day had just started. Sumika left the house earlier than usual because she said there were many patients in the hospital. Ayako was not able to even bid her goodbye since she left while she was taking a bath.
After eating, Ayako set the dishes on the dishwasher when a scribbled note stuck on the refrigerator's door caught her attention. After finishing with the dishes, she approached the note and read it aloud.
"Aya, I will come home late. I need to take overtime because there are lots of patients in the hospital. Our food supply is running out too and I can't go to the grocery. Please do it for us instead. Here's the things that you need to buy: Eggs, Milk, Bread, Vegetables, Soap, Shampoo, Tissue and you can buy Ice cream too. The money is on the cabinet. Arigatou! Nee-chan."
She sighed, "Good thing we don't have tutorials today..." She shrugged before snapping the note from the refrigerator and stuffed it inside her skirt's pocket.
"Meow..." She heard Maya uttered.
She looked at him, "What?"
Maya positioned his paws liked he was pointing at something. She shifted her gaze to what Maya was pointing. It was where their cat foods were placed and she saw that they're also running out of it. She smiled, "Ow! You're really so attentive when it comes to your own food ne Maya!" She commented sarcastically.
"Meow!" Maya sounded delighted as he started licking his paws.
Ayako pouted and walked away.
Later, in Horikoshi Gakuen's premises, the class 2D would be having a practical exam for their PE subject and the game for the day was volleyball.
"You met her? How was she Yama-chan?" The shortest among the three people on the dressing room asked in a low but curious tone as he tied his shoe lace.
He timed his questions exactly when he saw that the only people left on the dressing room were the three of them.
"Ahh, she looks smart." Yamada answered as he watched his reflection in front of a mirror. He saw Chinen stood beside him after he was done tying his own shoe lace.
"She's really smart!" Yuto butted in. His face was literally in his bag. He was digging something in it.
"Nahh! I should have gone with you! I wanna see her too!" Chinen whined childishly.
"Yosh!" Yuto exclaimed in victory as he finally found what he was searching, the other pair of his sock. "You can come with me next time if you wanna see her..." He's now struggling to put the sock on his big left foot.
Yamada patted Chinen's shoulder before moving away from the mirror and sat on a bench to do his shoes. "Let's go together! We're actually close already..." His voice hinted something Chinen found weird.
Yuto twitched his eyebrows, "Yeah, we could all go together." His tone changed.
Chinen noticed Yamada smiled. He also saw Yuto's weird change of mood. "Ahh... I'll look forward for it."
After Yuto finished changing with his PE uniform, he excused himself from them. "I'll go ahead! I still need to help setting up the net." He said and disappeared.
Chinen narrowed his eyes and looked at Yamada, "Yama-chan, why are you teasing him?" He asked in a serious tone.
"I find it funny..." Yamada admitted with a grin on his face, "And he seems to like her very much."
"Really... So you've told her about them?" He asked again.
He nodded, "Yeah. I warned her to be careful. It's the best thing I can do but she looks like she can actually take care of herself."
"We're just being cautious. I heard Ohgo-san and her allies are already planning something about her." Chinen shrugged, "Why do girls act like that?"
Yamada looked at him, "I'll never know." Then he walked out of the room.
Chinen followed him after heaving a sigh. "Let's just hope for the best..."
Later that day, Ayako found herself going in the grocery store. She took a look of the list she had on her palm before deciding which aisle she should go first.
"Eggs..." She muttered before turning right with the shopping basket slung her arm.
Moments later, she scanned the items on her shopping basket and smiled, "Everything's here!" She muttered as she tapped the ice cream can and walked towards the counter when her attention was caught by the magazine stand on back part of the grocery store. Instead of going to the counter, she turned to her left and went near to the magazine stand. No one was there, except for her, so she was delighted for having all the liberty to look at the magazines.
As her gaze ran through the magazine titles, she saw a certain one with Hey!Say!JUMP on the cover. Her eyebrow twitched and she picked the magazine. "Hmm, still kakkoi ne. They never disappoint me..." She uttered and opened the magazine.
"Are you Himeji Ayako?"
She was too absorbed in reading a part of the magazine when she heard someone asked. She didn't want to lose where she was so she answered without looking at who was asking her, "Yeah... what can I do for you?"
"So you're not just a friend, you're also a fan!" Another voice remarked.
She was puzzled with what she heard and turned around to see who were talking to her. "Nani?"
When she turned around, she saw three girls. They were undeniably beautiful, cute, ahh... seemingly flawless and glittering? Ayako was in awe. 'Why are these girls talking to me? They look like celebrities... hmm, speaking of which... The girl on the middle looked like the girl on the film we watched in school. What was the title of that, Memoirs of a Geisha?' She thought as the girls in front of her continued to shot her with deadly glares.
"Nehh, and I thought she's very beautiful for Nakajima-kun to befriend her." The girl on the left commented with an insulting tone.
Ayako's eyebrow raised, "Ha?" She remembered that girl's face. 'She's from Seigi no Mikata, right?'
"Yet I heard from Chinen-kun talking to Yamada-kun that she helps Nakajima-kun with his lessons so maybe, she's just smart!" The girl on the right spoke.
Ayako wanted to flail already as she realized that the girl who last spoke was from Bloody Monday. 'Crap! No wonder why they all look glittering! They are actresses!!!' Her thoughts freaked out, 'But why are they talking to me? They seemed to be insulting me.. but whatever! I think I need an autograph... But where can I find a notebook?' She wasn't paying attention to the words the girls had been talking.
They got bewildered when Ayako seemed not to hear all the bad things they were talking about. "Oi, are you listening to us?!" The girl on the left asked defiantly.
Ayako was snapped back from reality, "Yeah! Anyways, why are all of you here? Aren't you busy with your show business lives?" She asked, sounding so innocent. 'What were they talking again?'
The girl on the middle raised an eyebrow and advanced from her former position to just inches away from Ayako, "Listen! I'm telling you; get away from Nakajima-kun!"
Ayako's eyes widened with the girl's actions, "W-why will I do that?" She responded, staggering in puzzlement.
"Because, he... is... MINE!" She announced, still not withdrawing from where she was.
The girls behind her were even surprised with what they heard.
"If you don't, I can do so many tricks to pull you away from him. I have connections, money and fame. I can make arrangements for Toyo High School to drop you off, I can talk to the government to lay off your parents and even bribe some goons to get inside your house and kill you cats." The girl stated. They sounded like they really searched about her.
The last words made Ayako angry. She would never be afraid being dropped off from Toyo or her parents being fired but for her cats to be involved, she couldn't accept it even if she was joking. "Are you threatening me Ohgo Suzuka?" She asked with a deep voice and an angry glare. The name of that girl had just registered in her mind.
The girl in front of her shuddered but still didn't change her position. "No! I'm just telling you what I can do to you." She said, trying to maintain her loud voice but had failed.
"Well, fine words but that won't make me get away from your Nakajima Yuto!" She said, eyeing her listener with contempt. "If you thought you could intimidate me just because you're actresses, then back up! I was not accepted in Toyo if I didn't have larger IQs than the three of you. Don't ever think that you can outsmart me!" She insulted back.
"Hey, what?!" The girls behind started to butt in with their conversation.
The girl, whom she called as Ohgo Suzuka was now red in anger. "What do you mean, you smart-assed bitch?"
"Bitch? Well, for your information, Yuto-kun was the one who begged to let me tutor him. He was over-confident that his brain wasn't enough for being a second year high school so he asked for my help. Now, you're mad at me because I help him? How nice, and I thought you should be favoring his good welfare." She said, dropping the shopping basket on the floor.
The three of them seemed to finally feel her anger and shivered at the sound of a dropped plastic basket on the floor.
"Listen very carefully... I will never be afraid of you but put this in your minds, if you want for Yuto-kun to stop hanging out with me, tell him! It wasn't really part of my plan to spend my time with an idol and then got insulted by his mad friends." She hissed then picked up the basket she dropped, "And don't you ever lay a hand on my cats!" She then walked away from them.
The girls she left dropped their jaws on the floor. They were surprised of the result of what they thought as the plan to scare the person Yuto called as 'Aya-chan'. Instead of intimidating her, they were the ones who got intimidated.
'And I thought they were very nice! I even watched the making of Seigi no Mikata, bought the OST CD of Bloody Monday because I loved Miura-kun's character and took part of convincing our History teacher to let us watch Memoirs of Geisha in school! How awful.... Nahh! Maybe I shouldn't trust too much on celebrities, especially girls. They tend to be two faced.' She thought and pouted as she waited for the cashier on the counter to key in everything in her basket.
"It's Y10700 miss..." The cashier said.
She got out her wallet and pulled some bills to pay to the cashier. Afterwards, she left the grocery store with a hot temper. She was still pissed off with those girls who changed her views of Japanese entertainment. It was already dark when she got out. She never thought she wasted more than 10 minutes talking to those girls.
'Was that what Yamada-kun warned me about? They seemed to be herd of sheep talking with lions' language. It didn't suit them...' She shrugged and continued walking.
By the time she got home, she immediately ate up ice cream to cool down her temper when she saw the magazine she had read mixed in with the things she bought on the grocery.
"Waah... I didn't notice I bought this too..." She whispered and opened the magazine.
She sat on the sofa and read the articles inside the mag when she heard someone opening the door.
"Tadaima!" Sumika cried out, clothed in her all-white nurse uniform and was taking off her white shoes.
Ayako didn't get up from the sofa, "Okaeri nasai Oneechan!" She just shouted.
"Have you cooked something already?" She asked.
She shook her head when she saw her sister already in front of her, "I've just arrived from the grocery." The magazine was on her lap.
Sumika frowned, "You haven't eaten dinner and you're already munching ice cream!" She exclaimed in disbelief.
She pouted, "Some people made my temper raised! I just wanna cool it down with ice cream."
Sumika glared at her, "Whatever, you short-tempered! Everything almost makes your temper rise..."
"No Sumi nee-chan, this time they really did it on purpose!" She persuaded her.
Sumika started climbing up the stairs, "Hai, hai!! Just prepare the vegetables, I'll cook something."
Ayako smiled, "Okay!!!" She affirmed and stood up, leaving the magazine on the sofa.
When she was already on the kitchen, the naughty Maya peeked at the magazine and when he was not amused with what he was seeing, he pushed the magazine off from the sofa to the floor and laid his belly to its former place. "Meow..."
