Does anyone here know anything about comics?

I am clearing out some old boxes. Younger me, like older me, was a hoarder. I have found the following magazines, all in good (as compared to "as new") condition:

Marvel Comics Learn and Play Rupert No. 3 12th Jan '94

Marvel Comics Learn and Play Sesame Street No. 6 20th Apr '94

Playdays Magazine number 3 8-14 August 1990
Playdays Magazine ( Read more... )

My immediate thought is that none will have any real monetary value (unless any of the Marvel comics feature early work by artists who've gone on to major US titles, which occasionally happened: Dave Gibbons did a lot of stuff for IPC and even posed in a superhero costume for the short-lived Tornado, his character "Big E" being roughly equivalent to 2000AD's alien 'editor', Tharg).

A local playgroup, on the other hand, would probably be delighted to take them off your hands.

Thanks, Steve, I really appreciate you taking the time to have a look through this rather odd list of comics! There's a website offering values for various Marvel comics free with registration, so I'll try them and find an appreciative home for the other magazines that are still in good condition. I might keep the earliest Playdays magazine for myself, I did love that program!

No problem, Nicky. Hope I was of some help.

My LJ is mostly f-locked, but I've added you in case you're interested. (Staying with friends at the moment, so posting to both LJ and FB has dropped this past week. Have been offline since Wednesday evening.)

My LJ is mostly unlocked! I post very little (I was going to say "very little that requires friendslocking", but actually that shorter sentence is true, too!). New friends are always welcome. I have just added you to my friendslist, thank you :)
