Oh, thank you! I'm half-in-love with Juliet really, so it's nice to hear when someone thinks I write her well.

I'd never really thought about Richard/Juliet before, but now I love it! The progression of time and shooting lessons was beautifully executed, I think, and I love how much you can tell each of them is NOT saying, and the silently tender relationship that grows between them. And of course, watching Juliet transform from the softie back home into the badass on the island is terrifying and subtly done. Amazing job! :)

Aw, thank you so much! You know, I wasn't even thinking about them that way but once I read it over I realized that it's the way I wrote it. LOL. I dunno, something in the way Juliet seems to know a lot more about Richard than she's willing to tell is nice. To me, both of them do put as much weight in what they don't say as in what they do say. So I'm glad that you got that feeling from this!

Wonderful Richard voice; he's almost unnervingly calm, just like he's supposed to be.

And the build-up to this: Her finger squeezes.

A few feet away, a bird falls.

Lovely.

The Road is full of quotable passages, isn't it? :)

Hey, a The Road reader. God, it's full of heart wrenching quotes, yes.

And hey, coming from someone who read Cormac McCarthy this comment is a compliment! Thank you.
