Oh, poor Sawyer. This was so poetic and haunting and the atmosphere completely palpable. I wish I had more words for how much I loved this because it's just incredible!

I just found this fic and oh. It is perfect in the most heartbreaking way.
You captured Sawyer's voice perfectly, from the way he reacts after Juliet's death (which it's completely in-character), to the part where he goes to meet his own young self.
Your Hurley is precious. Miles... and Kate and Jack, as always, trying to fix everything...
But my favorite part (and by favorite I mean: the part that made me cry and that, as I re-read, made me all teary) is when he start listing what she teached him, the rules. His life with her. I know bits of spoilers, so I'm not sure what will be the closing between these two, but I know that during those three years they were happy. There was a calm underneath that you could feel over La Fleur. It was a mature relationship and I love that.

I definitely believe that. I hate it when non-shippers go all 'oh, they were only together because it was convenient' or whatever, because NO. They were happy.

Oh, my gosh, this is incredible. Haunting and sad, and the VOICES! Each one of them is so different, and completely pitch-perfect. Juliet's rules for Sawyer, and how he goes totally cold, and all the things he could say to Kate but doesn't, and the stuff with him and his past self, and "there was a hole in their plastic empire," and him waking up and thinking he's in hell, and JUST. Thank you so much for this.

Aw, thank you for the lovely feedback! I'm really surprised that the Sawyer/Kate parts pleased a shipper (I assume) -- I tried to make them honest is all. Hopefully that's how it came across.

Hee, you know, I guess I do consider myself a Sawyer/Kate shipper, though I totally get why Sawyer and Juliet work so well together and I think both of those relationships are made way richer and more real in tandem with each other. And you totally hit on Sawyer's truth here. :)
