I like that your Severus sees himself as a potential positive influence on a child. Perhaps, given a new life without the prejudices he grew up with, he can start over and eventually allow someone else to be with him.
This fits canon, and gives believable explanations for things JKR didn't. Book 7 was a disappointment; not just by the deaths, but the lack of reasoning behind so much of what happened.

I'd really like to read more of this universe, so I'd encourage another chapter...or twelve... ;)

I had the hardest time writing the six months later part. I wanted to go AU, but I couldn't.

You reminded me that Severus has Phoenix tears running through him, and I love that image of Severus rising from the ashes of his old life, taking comfort in the memories of past love until his heart has healed enough to "allow someone else to be with him."

I don't have time to write a Snape/OC story, but I do enjoy the thought of a baby Snape peering through the rails of his cot to see what his parents are 'playing' at on a rug before the fire!

I know you don't have time, but what can I say? I have a distinct appreciation for your imagination, and I'd really hate for you to run out of plot ideas. ;)

I'm finally getting caught up on the fics I've been meaning to read.

This is so melancholy, yet hopeful at the same time. You've written a Severus that is capable of moving on from the past, or at least adapting well to a new future. But it was so sad to see him picturing a life with Tonks and Teddy as his family, only to lose it like that. :(

Lovely work.

I'm so glad you read my story! I have to admit, I wanted to go AU and have Tonks show up in that village--I walked away from the computer several times before I could make myself write the six months later part--but it's impossible for me to imagine Tonks without Remus. I guess I'm not a true SSNT shipper, since I can only imagine her with Snape before Remus, not after, even if she thought of him more than Remus would like. :)

Thank you for finding the hope in the story! I do have hope for Severus. He would have been a good father to Teddy, and I believe he'll be a good father to another child one day when his heart has healed and a new love comes into his life. He deserves to say 'all was well' every bit as much as Harry!
