Ass'o'clock

Jun 25, 2007 19:30

So, work, in an effort to keep cooling costs down, is having our standard workday [7:30AM - 4:00PM] moved one hour earlier, to start at 6:30AM.

Which means I now have to wake up at 5:30AM for my morning routine.  Pre-dawn.  This does not amuse me.

5:30 isn't pre-dawn this time of year. Ask me how I know *downs more coffee*

Ok, so sunrise is officially 5:18A this morning, but since I'm at the bottom of a hill the sun does not reach over the horizon until later, about 6:10A. So FOR ME, it is pre-dawn.

Tell them that the hottest portion of the day is the time that some cultures take a siesta. See if you can get an extended lunch break from, say, 11-1 in exchange for staying an hour later (when it's theoretically cooler).
Anyway, grab some extra good, double yum coffee. sounds like you'll need it!

PS: If you wake me up at ass o'clock in the morning @ the cabin this weekend, I *will* beat you. ;)

I'm heading to the farmer's market at 9AM, I really need to get out to the cabin.

Actually, during the summer in the northern hemisphere, the peak temperature occurs at 4pm, and the internal building temperature follows that cycle a bit out of phase, to the peak temp would be around 5 - 5:30. Thus, anything you can do to minimize the total time in the shop to the hotter times, the better.
