I've prepared for you, people of the world a PIMP POST! Yes, that is correct.
Maybe 3 people or 30 people will read this! As long as it comes to some sort of use to one person, that's really all that matters. :)
What is it?
It's an ongoing list of today's hottest iconers here on LJ! I've already scouted out a few, but as I find new journals I will be adding them on. I've posted the names of the communities, the people who post in them AND examples, all for your pleasure!What has the summer done to me?! I'll also give you my opinion, to tell you what to expect in their journals. ** I realize you all have probably heard of some of these, but there are people out there who haven't, so be kind plzkthnx.
Why on earth would you do this?!
Because these talented artists deserve it. They take their time to create things for you, not to metion they're amazing at it! I'm also trying to scout out the newer journals that are just starting out to give them a bit of a boost. :)
Now, I present...
twilightbadgirl and tiredangel18 @ bystarlight_
Between the two of these talented girls, they cover alot of your favorite fandoms! They are both trendsetters, and always dish out new styles in their posts. Both have great coloring and cropping skills, and place their text in stylish ways. Along with their great icons, their updates frequently consist of headers, wallpapers, and the occasional mood theme too (some of my all time favorites).

These ladies have honestly, got it all. I believe the question is, what haven't they made icons of?, because I can't think of anything they've missed. Each of these makers have got their own styles working for them- they've got quite the variety over there! You can find beautiful coloring, stunning brushwork, and excellent cropping. I look foward to all of their posts.

Here, not only does she offer her lovely icons, but she makes GREAT layouts also. I really like her coloring techniques and her placement of text. It always turns out looking really nice :) Also, the way she combines black and white with color is a great style.

This lady has just got pure TALENT. She's so creative, and uses textures and brushes in such simple yet very creative ways that just WORK. I'm a huge fan of all of her work and enjoy all of her posts. Even if you don't follow the fandom in one of her icons, you'll take it just because it looks so good. She's an excellent inspiration, and posts very useful tutorials. :)

You can expect vibrant, eye-popping colors from some of the makers, and subtle, yet a beautiful tinge from the others. Also, this community has got most fandoms covered! (If you're a Robert/Rupert fan...indicted's got your back ;) )

Absolutly STUNNING use of textures/brushes/text/coloring.. everything! Simply amazing work. I save icons from fandoms I don't even watch because they're just so creative and wonderful.

This is one of the newer makers out there, that I wish more people knew about! The icons are simple, yet so appealing- I just love them. The black and white icons here are my favorites, but the coloring is all phenominal.

WHOMEVER the maker is here, he or she has amazing coloring skills. Honestly, some of the best coloring, in my opinion, on LJ- and coloring isn't just something you can just DO. You've got figure it out, try about a billion different things until you finally find that one perfect match. WONDERFUL WORK.

This journal is probably one of my favorites if not my favorite. She deserves for everyone to know about her- her work is just amazing. Excellent use of colors and text! I'm a sucker for all of her LOST icons :) Beautiful EVERYTHING there.

MOST LIKELY, the best stock/art icons on LJ. Her coloring effects and cropping are brilliant! There is SO much to love over there, and I HIGHLY reccomend her.

I really enjoy the stock icons this person's makes, but their other icons of fandoms are ALSO just excellent! You can expect to see more darker, yet very deep and rich colors in her icons that still make your eyes POP. A common style used is blue and pink light spots which creates a GREAT effect. Great work here :)

This journal not only offers great icons, but great resources also. WONDERFUL brushes and textures are freatured pretty frequently in all her updates. You can't put one style on all these icons- she uses to many, and is defintely a trendsetter. All of her icons are different and unique, there is just SO much to love there.

I enjoy this journal because the maker uses tectures wonderfully! It's not too much, but just the right kind and right setting and right EVERYTHING to make it look PERFECT. Defintely a place to check out.

BEST CROPPER ON LJ, in my opinion. Also, defintely one of the best color-ers (lol) out there. She defintely has got a defined style- minimal text, blue, rich coloring and obviously, her amazing cropping. HIGHYL RECCOMENDED TO CHECK OUT.

These two are wonderful together! last5 is the place to go for LOADS of great Harry Potter icons, and tons of hilarious icons based on bad fan fics and parts in various HP movies (they're VERY amusing :P) Defintely a place to check out :)

The way sugardares incorporates textures into her icons is so unique, and works really well. Her icons are filled with lots of colors, and many various celebrities, QaF, Dead Like Me, Dr. Who and many other fandoms as well.
