[Duo heads to the kitchen and starts getting stuff out for sandwiches. He's getting out a lot. Apparently he plans on making lots of sandwiches.] I figured you would be. You're really quiet when you're older so I'm not surprised if you're quiet now too. So, 'bout hold old are ya? Oh! And does this make you my little brother now? That could be fun.

[Duo looks at the kid for a second before going back to working on a pile of sandwiches.] Nine? Huh. Seem a little small for nine, but you're not really a big guy when ya get older anyway. You go to school and have a home and a mom and all those good things, right?

I've always been... rather small. I don't go to school. Kaa-san homeschools me because there has been trouble... and we always have to move a lot.

Nothin' wrong with bein' small. It means we can get into those places a lotta other people can't. We can hind there or get stuff outta there. All kinds of good things. Ah, shoulda thought of that. Yeah, wouldn't think you'd be goin' to school. Well, better ta learn from your Mom anyway. Well probably. I didn't go ta school when I was your age, but I don't think it was very good anyway.

Well, beat 'em up. Just 'cause your small doesn't mean they can pick on ya. Don't let 'em. [Duo should not be allowed near children.] Didn't go ta school 'cause... well long story short, I was on the streets and kids like me didn't go ta school. Then the church took me in and made me go ta school for a little while.

Eh? I can't do that! I got in trouble because there was this one time where I couldn't control my powers properly and someone got hurt! You didn't like it school at all?

[Duo pauses for a moment before he finishes with the sandwiches.] Damn, you got your powers really young, didn't you? Figured they'd let you grow up a little more first. Well, guess you'll just have ta learn ta beat up mean kids with your fists like the rest of us.

Eh, didn't really care. Didn't like the kids there. Beat 'em up plenty. School just isn't somethin' ya worry 'bout when you got other stuff ta worry 'bout like food.

Ahhhh know how that goes. Sister Helen would scold me, but she was also really nice about it afterward... I really miss her, ya know? She was a really great lady. I just didn't realize how much at the beginning... anyway, if the kids at school are bein' mean to ya, you gotta stand up to them. Otherwise they'll always push you around
