Operation "Christmas Shopping with Fairy-Princess-Mermaid" went astonishingly well. I thought it was a recipe for disaster - me taking her in two days before Christmas, into the city (over an hour's bus commute) to brave the mobs and try to do ALL my remaining shopping (lots) in the one hit
