No More Bitten Nails

I don’t remember a time when I didn’t bite my nails.

Because of that, I’ve never been able to figure out why I do it; and because of that, I’ve never had a whole lot of success in kicking the habit. It's the smooth edges and surfaces that keep my nails out of my teeth. I have to keep them manicured to not bite. I feel you.

Good for you!

I don't bite my nails habitually or pathologically, but I have bitten them all my life to trim them. I can't stand it if white shows AT ALL. Too long. So I just rip them off when driving, etc. It's gross and I shouldn't do it, but I can't wait to trim them/will forget about it if I don't do it right away, so off them come.

I've never minded how they look due to this, but I did go through a period where I used nail trimmers to cut my nails for about a year after I graduated from vet school to have "nice" nails for interview for jobs and such. I gave that up a decade ago. Though I still use trimmers if I happen to notice long nails when I'm home or whatever.

Anyway...good for you!

*inspects nails and finds no white and is okay with life*
