If there is grey area in fan fiction, that's where I write too. I'm not sure if my "Young Mal" stories are fan fiction or what. The only canon character is Mal, but a Mal who is growing up on Shadow with his Ma and the hands on the ranch...I think those are in the grey area ( ... )
