Jensen isn’t a huge fan of the airport, but he kind of loves it too.

He hates the huge crowds, long lines, endless waits, airplane food, airplane bathrooms, the unhelpful people, and a myriad of other little annoyances.

He likes watching the joining of families, friends, and couples, though, when someone lands. It’s a moment of sheer joy and happiness, and Jensen likes seeing them radiating delight at these unions after time spent apart.

Jensen waits impatiently for Jared’s plane to land. The waiting is the hardest part, he thinks. He’s leaning against the wall, a cup of coffee in one hand, and the paper in his other. He looks up at the departure/arrival screen to see if Jared’s plane is going to land anytime soon. It’s already been delayed and Jensen’s impatient to see his boyfriend.

Hiatus this year has been extra painful since they both shot movies in different parts of the world and just never got around to spending time with each other. Their relationship into boyfriend territory is still new and on shaky ground, so this hiatus seemed longer than usual.

Finally the sign for Jared’s plane says arrived instead of the delayed it had been saying for the past hour. Jensen walks swiftly over to the gate and waits a couple of feet away, keeping his eyes peeled for the tall form of Jared.

It’s another half hour before his eyes finally catch sight of Jared, and damn he’s a sight for sore eyes. Jared sees him and this beautiful smile breaks out over his face and if Jensen weren’t smiling just as huge, he’d think up some lame simile like Jared’s smile is the sun after a dark cloudy day.

Jared gathers him up in a huge hug and Jensen tucks his face in Jared’s neck, his spot. It fits perfectly and he takes a huge inhale, smelling recycled airplane air and Jared’s cologne, a scent he’s missed these past few months.

“Can we go home?” Jensen mumbles.

“Yes please,” Jared says, but neither of them makes any effort to move, happy to just be in each others arms.
