I went to a party tonight that was for theatre majors...I was expecting a party where everyone actually talked and got to know eachother better. I love being a theatre major. The people who know me know that I can't really enjoy a party unless I know a lot of people there. I walked in...and...WOW!!! There were so many people there. Theatre ( Read more... )

Hey, this is Jill. I added you to my friends. Yeah, it is overwhelming to see so many people that you don't know and having alcohol around. You get used to it, but it is better to be in a more intimate setting. I hope you make a lot of friends. Theatre majors are fun people.

My first party was overwhelming, too. However, I started getting to know the guys at the only frat I went to parties at all year. I eventually just hung out with a small group of people in one of the guys' rooms during a party. It's a lot better to go with a small group of friends so that you can talk to someone.

But, yeah, parties aren't really all they're cracked up to be sometimes. Talk to people at lunch and stuff like you said, and you'll make a bunch of friends in no time.

Firstly and foremostly...I love you.
Secondly...this is Jenn F. Your fantabulous New Faces director.
Thirdly...I just found your lj tonight and I am adding you to my friends because you are my friend.
Fourthly...parties arent that great unless you have an affinity for getting trashed, puking, and making out with people you have no feelings for what-so-ever. (I went to a lot of theatre parties my freshy year, and discovered there is life beyond them...they get old fast and it is ok that you were overwhelmed, it actually makes my heart smile that you were overwhelmed, because that kind of situation is not something that should be a part of normal life)
Fifthly...you can hang out with me ANY TIME and have some real fun.
Sixthly...I love you....had to say that one again....you are a sweetheart.

Hey! I was a BU Theatre major! Class of 2004! Who's your Big Sib? Don't worry about the parties, they've calmed down CONSIDERABLY since my freshman year....Are they still having Body Graffitti after New Faces?? Oh and piece of vital information: Debbie is God send! If you have any problems go see her, not matter how small. She loves being the department mom. :)
