You know, this is just fanfiction and I'm not making any judgements here. In fact I like the premis and I like the story, but slavery is very real. In fact, there was a case of slavery uncovered where I live, in New York, where several women were brought here as sex slaves. It was a shocker and kept very quiet because of who was involved. But it happens to be more than a $9 billion business and there are more than 600,000 people in various types of slavery today, more than at any other period in recorded world history. If the moderators want to delete this comment, fine but my comment is not meant as a criticizum or as a judgement or anything like that, just a point of information.

I am perfectly aware of the fact that slavery is real. I know that here in England there are thought to be at least 7000 slaves. But I don't quite understand what you're getting at, could you please clarify?

1) If you felt I wasn't handling the topic sensitively enough, I'm very sorry and I will try to handle it more sensitively in the future. If you explain what you felt was insensitive I will try to improve on it.

2) If you felt the situation wasn't handled as it would be in the real world, I'm sorry but I'm not a police-person so I only know so much. If you let me know what you found unrealistic I will try to improve on it.

3) If it's the topic itself that you have a problem with I have no sympathy. There is a clear warning at the top of the fill and the prompt specifies Neal being a slave. If you don't like the topic don't read.

If it is something other than the above three please let me know and I will do my best to correct it. I hope you enjoy future installments. :)

None of the above. As I said at the beginning of my comment, I'm enjoying the story and I think you are handling it just fine. I was just adding a point of information. If you feel that it was a criticizum, please delete it because it was not meant as one.

Ooh, great start! I'm glad Peter is playing it smart (I love smart Peter!). Peter seemed very IC throughout, caring about Neal but also never forgetting to care about all the other people being exploited too.

Looking forward to more :D

I applaud your sensitivity and your accuracy in what is involved. I really like how you have Peter. You write it so well I can see it like an episode of the show. I also like how Peter picks up on the smile being 'plastic - y' and to me you are doing well, this is how slave auctions were done at least in the 1800s and probably still done. I like the way you capture the well soulessness of the people involved in slave trade and their brazeness. I like how you arent making anything about it seem sexy or fun.

Wow, high praise, thankyou so much I'm very happy you could see it as an episode, and I'm also happy you think I'm handling the subject matter well :D
