Prompt/request: There is a campaign in which pictures of long missing children are shown and beside them a variation how they could look like today. A six year old looks like Neal.

Characters: Everyone but Sara (sorry, really can't stand her)

I would like: Well, a story about Neal's past before he went to New York. The information about his father can be ignored, but otherwise I want it canon compliant. Neal doesn't even have to be the missing child in the end (but it should be a possibility for some time).

I don't want: Sexual or heavy abuse in Neal's past. Crack (I would prefer some drama). Neal being related to someone in the show.
