This may be rude and offensive...

...but I could never be a vegan. Or a vegetarian. I've seen the documentaries, read the articles, I know how the meat gets to my market and to my table...and I just don't really care. I'm a carnivore, I am a MEAT eater and I don't want to give it up. I love animals, alot of times I like animals more than I like people, but I refuse to give up ( Read more... )

Haha, i've been a vegetarian for four years now.
The problem was originally i never ate much meat before so it wasnt all that big a deal for me.
What bugs me is when people shove meat in my face [yes, its happened] and when i am constantly questioned about wanting to be one. And because i eat fish the answer is "Well your not really a veggie then are you?" I gave up fish however it had a negative effect on me so i had to go back on.
But i dont think your evil for eating meat, hell my whole family eats meat and i havent disowned them ;]
Btw, you do realise you can get protein from plenty of other places other then meat right? lol

See, I'm a big meat eater, mainly chicken and pork. See, I don't have a problem with vegans/vegetarians, but I would NEVER try to force them to eat meat. That is just plain offensive, even to me.

I know I can get protein from other places, but when my body tells me I need protein I can tell because I start craving meat (steak/beef mainly). It's part of a "warning system" I've developed for my body. Small impulses/cravings that let me know things.

Kinda like chocolate? ;p
See, i would never insist that someone give up meat so i find it offensive when i get a million and one questions asking why and i can tell people disapprove. Also, when people look at the food and think it looks disgusting. Its called subtlety.

I do so love me some chocolate. *chocolate addict*

Actually, one of my favorite dishes to make is an all veggie casserole that everyone else in my family compare to vomit. It's cream of mushroom with green beans, carrots, corn, and fried onions (basically a bastardized version of green bean casserole). It's hella good, though.

I don't really eat a lot of meat and I love vegetarian products but I could never give up my chicken. Never.

a) Love your icon. Misha, how I adore thee. (HAVE YOU SEEN THE MOVIE LEGION? PAUL BETTANY GIVES MISHA A RUN FOR HIS MONEY IN THE BAD!ASS ANGEL ARCHETYPE.)

b) I love that shirt. I WANTS THAT SHIRT. WHY DID YOU SHOW ME THAT SHIRT?!

c) I used to own this shirt, and some people got really offended by it. Which amused me.

I was talking about this exact thing with my friend yesterday. I could never ever ever give up meat. When it comes right down to it... shit, I just don't care.

What's funny is I'm one of those people who ABHOR violence towards animals. I can't stand for animals to be neglected or abused, it absolutely infuriates me.

But...I can't give up eating meat. Morally, I'm all for it. Realistically, I'm apparently a sociopath because it ain't happenin'.
