"New" Vegemite

Is crap.

It has no flavour. It sorta tastes like a 1:10 mix of vegemite and margerine, maybe with some plastic cheese mixed in. If it didn't say "vegemite" on the side of the jar, I wouldn't have known.

Don't bother.

Not amazing, or overly good but edible :P

I found that it was really bland, and I'm not very fond of that fake "cheese" flavour.

Also, it's the colour and texture of whipped diarrhoea, which is very rarely a plus.

I was in the city when they were handing out samples, I said I didn't want one and they slipped one into my bag anyway D: I ended up giving it to a housemate. I'm not sure of the vegetarianness of it.

The internets tell me that ordinary vegemite is only *sometimes* vegan, and other times made on machines that also process meat. Look for a "K" in the use-by date, apparently.

As to the new vegemite, it's supposedly a mix of vegemite with butter and cream cheese. Long story short:

I don't see the point. People generally (or at least often) mix Vegemite with dairy when they make sandwiches anyway.

They might as well just go the whole hog and mix the bread in as well. Vegemite sandwiches in a jar.
