(around the same time as this?)

Back in his apartment on the edge of the Gold Coast, Thomas Raith waited for a phone call. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the particular phone call, it also meant he had to deal with having one nervous, broody, absurdly tall little brother in his way while he waited. Dean's disappearing act had been nerve-wracking. Thomas was the one who tracked him down in the end. In a way, Sam wasn't surprised. On the other hand, he was possibly going to kill his brother.

Thomas, on the other hand, was seriously considering murdering both Winchesters for getting him in the middle of this. He remained on the couch, forcing himself to not fidget with the burner phone on the armrest. Sam's nervous energy was catching.

"Can't even if I wanted to, remember?" It had been what tipped Thomas off in the first place, the curt phone call from his sister, that had been half message and half threat, suggesting he stay away from the Winchesters. "But empty night you could use it."

The joke was on the tip of his tongue, but with a supreme effort of will Thomas swallowed it down. The fact was, he often knew when to keep his mouth shut. He just... rarely did it. "Right, because letting more of you hunters know she's tinkering around with your brother's brain is going to work out for you in the long run. Especially since I'm still not a fan of this 'shoot everyone and set it on fire' plan."
