The heat has finally broken, and today it's absolutely perfect. Overcast, 80, and a bit breezy. If you'd arrived today in Glendale, you'd never have known that 3 days ago it was almost 100. Back from Comicon this afternoon. It was a full weekend of artists, video games, comic books, graphic novels, new, old and vintage art, movies, TV, panelists, costumes, fans, geeks, art auctions, art galleries, sessions, beer, froufrou drinks, good food, energy bars (to tide us over and save some money) and pretty darn nice weather. This is the most consistently hot year on my record of SoCal. I've lived here on and off for decades, and have never exprienced this. So many consecutive hot days. We'll hit high notes throughout the summer, but to have it hover around the 90's for weeks is ridiculous. I just can't work on my computer during the day, it's too dang hot up here.

I went for a run tonight, I just couldn't bare to get outside until after the sun went down. I had one of those great runs, where your breathing is balanced. It was very yin yang, inhalation felt normal, and I could feel the energy I was expending. Every exhale felt like it was pushing me forward a little faster. Like a gentle nudge. I got the sale catalog from Nordstrom today, and this fall is gonna be wacky 80's all over again. Like totally flashdance OMG! Expect off-the-shoulder sweats, leg warmers, stripes, leggings, big hair and other silly stuff from my high school days. Oh the horror.

There is a big skittery black and white cat that roams between our townhouses in the evenings. He's always running whenever he sees anyone, so I've never gotten a good look at him. Was at a party all afternoon on the 4th. Traditional bbq, hanging out, talking about summer movies, sunning and enjoying the pool. We were playing catch w/ frisbees in the pool, and it was amazingly dull as compared to my childhood.
