I'm so glad that the frosting on your black and whites look like mine! The white was so runny (but dried to a delicious crisp, yum) and the chocolate was much thicker and nice and yummy too. I thought I did something wrong so it's great to see that yours came out looking similarly. :-)

That cake looks divine! I hear you about baking independence! I love that soon I'll be able to make my mom's sweet potato pie from scratch and with no recipe! Soon!

Speaking of sweet potatoes that hash looks delish! Do you think it would be as good without the bacon?

It was definitely thicker! I took her up on her suggestion of adding a little water to it every once in awhile as I was frosting, just to keep it nice and spreadable. It tasted great, though. SO GOOD.

I'm working on it, too! SOON! :D

Yes, actually, I do, and I've made it for vegetarian friends before with the Morningstar Farms soy bacon, and it's still delicious! :D

Yeah? Yay!

Those cookies were so awesome and I gave so many away and everyone loved them. :-) It's a risk to plan to give away cookies you've never baked before. But it worked! And they were best in 1-3 days but I had one a week later and it was still pretty good. Just have to keep 'em closed in Rubbermaid container.

Elk burgers sound really delicious. But may I ask, where exactly does one get elk?

They really were! Hmm. We got ours at our natural foods store, and sometimes when our farmers market is in season we can get it there. If you can't find it, bison makes a delicious burger, too, and sometimes it's easier to track down.
