1. Earth and Sun and Moon - Midnight Oil
2. Life On Mars - David Bowie
3. Venus - Frankie Avalon
4. Planets Schmanets - Manfred Mann's Earth Band
5. Time & Space (A New Refutation of) - Digable Planets

They're all part of the world, right?

Yep, they all work.

Very nice on the "Earth Band" and "Planets Schmanets" combo.

I would not be an advocate worth my salt if I did not start with

1. Michael Jackson, "We are the World"
“We’re saving all our lives”…I shudder to think that he was a major influence in my life, but as I now write op-eds on that theme, I have to wonder?

2. Three Dog Night ,”Joy to the World”
I’m still wanting to meet that bullfrog that always had a very fine wine.

3. Animaniacs, “The Nations of the World”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDtdQ8bTvRc

and lastly, in honor of my upcoming festivities…

4. Brad Kane and Lea Solonga, “A Whole New World”

5. Sherman Brothers (writers), “It’s a Small World (after all)”

I may have mentioned this before, but I always feel like I've done my weekly job well if I've given the opportunity to invoke John Prine.

1. Depeche Mode- "World In My Eyes". Also covered by The Cure.

2. Weezer- "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here". Pandora played "We Are All On Drugs" for me the other day and it made me long for the days of Weezer past.

3. McLusky- "The World Loves Us and Is Our Bitch"....and then they broke up.

4. The High Strung- "The World's Smallest Violin". "Can you hear the world's smallest violin, playing just for you?"

5. Outkast- "The Whole World". This song is going to be in my head for a week now that I've thought of it.

I hope you had a little conversation with Pandora about that.
