There has got to be a better way

So, at long last, I am playing financial catchup. Specifically, turning my bank statements into a spreadsheet, so I can get a handle on my budget and spending and business expenses and such. And, yes, tax burden, since I am self employed.

And as I am doing this on a Google Spreadsheet, having given up on trying to understand how to deal with

I'm pretty sure that I could set you up with the approximate thing you've described as an Excel spreadsheet, which could be imported into GoogleDocs. It would take me several hours and some swearing (because I have never in my life wanted what you're describing so some of it I know can be done but not precisely how to do it).

How useful that template would be to someone else, that I cannot say.

I don't intend this as work for other people. C has made similar suggestions. But my excel fu is weak, and this might be the thing that improves it. [Training montage]

I can see that, and yes, it would be a good idea.

Although I'd do it with a database program o-o
