Narrator of Jane the Virgin will turn out to be Jane's son Mateo, but I disagree. My current theory is that he's the other Mateo -- Alba's husband and Jane's grandfather; a ghost watching over his increasingly extended family

I usually get mostly bitter and annoyed at TV weddings, especially religious and straight ones, what with being very former with my Catholicism and living where I do, but it was just so moving and beautiful. I teared up a lot.
I'm glad Rose isn't dead, because that means JtV is not one of those lesbian-killing shows of 2k16 ;>
But the cliffhanger is worse than last year's and I don't even know who to be most anxious about. I'm not terribly fond of Michael, but it's so sad for Jane. And then there's Petra. (I thought it was Anezka in church, the actress smiled in a very Anezka way for a second there...)

The wedding got to me, even though I am usually bored/offput by TV weddings, because it was so grounded in Jane's family. Xo and Alba walking her down the aisle. Alba's revisionist wedding history. And Michael sending her an itemized list, and then secretly learning his vows in Spanish -- this is clearly someone who knows what's important to Jane, and some of it's her fear of chaos and need for control, and some of it's her deep family connections, which include her Venezuelan and Latin American history.
