Yeah, I couldn't believe our luck/timing. If we'd gotten there just a bit earlier we would have missed him and not gotten to see the place without the bars or to go inside.

I'm glad you found the cheese funny. Jack was quite serious and Ianto was rather confused :D

Oh you luck ducks! When I went (August 08) of course there was no shrine but the Mermaid Quay people were lovely and even assited us in picture taking.
You got to go IN...I am so jealous. Kevin sounds lovely of course while I was there I didnt meet anyone who wasn't...right down to the elderly Welsh grandmother who assisted me (terribly afraid of heights)up that last steep open set of steps to the very top of the Castle keep.
Cardiff airport reminds me of a US High School all steps and tiled walls and I agree about the amount of walking. I was fortunate and loved KLM (they didnt lose my luggage) and the sweet young man who as I was leaving tagged my bag as "heavy" (by then it was 90 lbs) but DIDNT CHARGE ME!! When I go back I want to go on a tour of BBC Wales.
Sounds like a blast...I'm hoping to go back in September, myself...just because...but seeing JB AND GDL has to be true plusses!

Thanks for reading. I'm usually very lucky... all bad. This trip, however, things were generally spot-on.

I was so thrilled that I got to go inside Ianto's Tourist Office I was virtually vibrating. I absolutely love Wales and it's people. We're already looking at going back again in July.

Once I figure out the whole story behind the cheese I may post it on my Action Ianto site (Of course then I'd actually have to get that going...)

It's not a cheese wheel it's a cleverly disguised stopwatch case, god forbid anything should happen to the stopwatch, Jack bought it a gummy casing for protection :)

Oh dear... Ianto has since eaten the cheese. H made a particularly large Welsh rarebit one evening.

Hi,
Your welcome for the pics. As to the mug, yes and no... I think it was somewhere in the lost luggage debacle, but in the hotel I noticed that the mug had developed a crack in the handle. With the crack I didn't trust hanging it with cable ties from the grates out in the main area. Instead it was attached to the far side where there's a ledge. (We then put the flowers that someone had left for Ianto in your mug as a vase.) Hope that's okay.
