Thank you so, so very much... I had been waiting for something like that ever since the season finale ended. There are no words to express how happy I was to know that Ellen's still alive.

That was just beautiful and real and raw and... gosh... I'm getting all teary-eyed. I love them so much together, it's almost insane.

"Did you cut your hair?"

That was probably the last thing on earth she expected him to say, and she laughs, short and almost soundless. "Yeah, couple weeks back."

"It looks nice." He smiles, toothy and dimpled.

that one little exchange, about ellen's hair, is where this whole thing came from. i was looking through screencaps from the episode and thought to myself, you know, i bet sam would notice that ellen cut her hair. and voila! :D

Wow. First Sam/Ellen I've ever read, and wow. Love how it's about comfort and release and affirmation of life rather than lust. Even though they're incredibly hot together! But it's the sex of friends, and if sex could ever help heal wounds, this seems like the kind that'd do it. Lovely!

This is fantastic! I love the end, that silent moment when she senses that Sam has stopped to look back. It's very simple yet so poignant. I'm so glad to see more Sam/Ellen fic around, I was hoping after the finale it would pop back up again. Thanks for sharing this!
