I have heard really good things about the Nook, if you don't want to go Kindle. I haven't heard really good things about any other e-reader.

I highly recommend the Sony PRS line of readers. I have the PRS-650 and my husband likes his T2 device which is the newest device from Sony. The device is lightweight, no back light, and it has a good collection development setup. The battery is also supposed to be good for 2 months. I may have to double check on their 2 month claim? but it's about as long as any other e-ink device that's come out recently. :)

I voted for John Picacio, so I'm happy he won! I really liked his stuff.

I loooove my Nook SimpleTouch. I got it almost on accident, tried it out just to see if I liked it, and never went back to my Kindle 3G.
