Yeah, you're right, there's definitely been some screw-ups. But I hate to see people going around saying the vaccine is unsafe, which I have. Anyone who can get vaccinated--specifically those under 50 in the high-risk groups--should.

Well, according to the FDA, thimerosol is not used in the single-dose version of the H1N1 vaccine. And the nasal spray contains no preservatives.

I can't speak to the eggs issue; but the H1N1 vaccine has been developed using the same science and technology used for flu vaccines for years, so the argument that this vaccine isn't safe to take, compared with all the rest? Doesn't wash. Which I know is not the argument you're making, but it is the argument I've seen elsewhere--and which a lot of the media are spreading.

Oddly enough, this post isn't on Failblog. But it could be!
Er, what's wrong with it? It looks like a rather nice pork recipe.

The photo on the left, in the Google Ad, is a really famous photograph from the Depression, of a hungry and desperate mother.

Ah, never saw it before, or if I did, didn't make an impression.

Since I'm in a high risk group (pregnant, and asthmatic) I stood in a VERY long line last week and managed to score an H1N1 flu shot. Got the seasonal back in September, before I knew I was pregnant.

My first thought on the mystery photograph was a local Utah resort called Saltair, but upon review of some old photos of that edifice, I decided that it wasn't the same place. The building in the mystery picture is taller and more square.
