"Without you, the ground thaws..." is "Without You" from RENT. I've realized, the show is pretty well written with the exception of Roger and Mimi's bits. Their songs are pretty much only lyrical repetition of abstract phrases like "Now we/Oh no/I know/Who knows?" and retardedly melodramatic bridges.
