The prompt for this week was "The Champ is Here!" The required length was 300 words and under.

Also, for the record, I DO NOT KNOW who wrote these! They are still anonymous to me! The only one I know is, well, my own, haha.

He couldn’t believe it.

Cody Rhodes was World Heavyweight Champion.

He kept looking down; making sure the big, gold belt was still around his waist.

It was a moment he had waited for, prayed for, and bleeds for. All his hard work culminated in one perfect moment. It was a moment he looked forward to celebrating with Ted.

Ted. His teddy bear. The one everyone expected to be the breakout. The one people expected to have this belt first.

The smile that had seemed to be stuck on his face started to slip. What if Ted felt the belt should have been his? Was it worth to have the gold, have this one shining moment if it costs him the one person who means the most?

His head was filled with worries as he once again looked down at the belt around his waist as he felt some arms wrap around him.

“Hey baby boy. It looks good.” Ted whispers in his ear, smiling as Cody turns his head to look at him.

“Are you sure?” Cody says, insecurity coating his words, “ It might look better on.”

Ted just smiles at him. “It might someday, but not now. Now is your moment and I plan on making sure we celebrate it properly. Don’t worry baby boy, I won’t let some belt come between us, unless you’re wearing it in the bedroom, of course.” Ted said with a wink.

And just like that all Cody’s worries dispersed as he realized just what sort of celebration Ted had in mind. He just hoped that the belt stayed clean.

Ten. Number of days since he started feeling... funny.

Nine. Amount of minutes that go by at show's end before his lockerroom door is shouldered open.

Eight. Number of seconds it takes to register what he sees.

Seven. Amount of steps before Cody will reach him. "So... Ted," he stops, starts again. "Teddy. Since you're 'it' right now and all.. was thinking we should... what do you say we really mark the calendar?"

Six. Number of thoughts that pass before the door closes behind him.

Five. Amount of breaths he forgets to take because he's still on the adrenaline rush from having his arm raised, from receiving a belt proclaiming him as the champion, from being with the kind of sudden company that makes his head swim.

Four. Number of times he's allowed himself to picture this moment. "Celebrate. Maybe go out for drinks or something?" he hears, distantly.

Three. Amount of feet separating them now. His mind is a buzzing orchestra of insects, complimenting the ones in the pit of his stomach.

Two. Number of audible swallows he takes. Cody opens his mouth, shoots him a certain type of look that seems reserved for people who probably aren't Ted DiBiase and confides, "Just us."

One. Amount of immediate answers that pop into his head. YES. "Ha, like a date?" is what he ends up saying and it comes out nothing like the joke he meant it to sound like. His ears burn instantly but Cody looks away, shrugs a shoulder and says quietly, "I don't know. Maybe?" Pause. Breath. "It could be..."

Zero. Exact number of people without breasts and long hair that he's ever wondered what it might be like to wrap his arms around and actually keep them there.

Until right now.

"Yeah, drinks. Sounds real good."

“One, two...three!” The crowd counted along as the referee’s hand hit the mat. The third time was met with a roar of boos as the beloved Randy Orton lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Cody Rhodes.

Backstage, Ted’s eyes were glued to the monitor as he watched his boyfriend’s biggest win to date. As soon as Cody began celebrating in the ring, Ted walked to the gorilla position wanting to be the first to congratulate the man he loved. Much to his dismay, many fellow superstars had the same idea, wanting to congratulate Cody on his big moment.

Walking through the curtain, Cody couldn’t wait to see Ted. He knew he couldn’t do much more than shake the Mississippian’s hand until they were alone, but even that was anticipated at this point. This was such a huge moment for Cody and he wanted to celebrate it with the love of his life.

Blue eyes met blue as Cody walked down the few steps to the back. Co-workers applauded, but the new champion went immediately to Ted, standing in front of him with a grin the size of Texas on his face as he held the title in his hands.

“I’m so proud of you.”

Cody grinned wider and gave a quick hug in response, but what happened next no one expected, least of all Cody. As Cody pulled back, Ted leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Cody’s lips.

“Teddy, there’re people-“

But he was interrupted by yet another kiss and this one he actually returned for a moment before pulling away, a dumbfounded expression on his face.

“I wanted to congratulate you properly and I don’t care who sees it anymore.”

With teary eyes Cody whispered back, “Both of my biggest dreams just came true tonight...”

The first thing is the noise, the slap of the palm on the mat for the third time igniting an explosion of voices, thousands of them, shouting comments or just roaring, lost in a single body of noise, the music upping the volume.

The next thing is the referee, grabbing his wrist to raise his hand, giving him the belt as he kneels on the mat. He stares at it as though he has never seen it before, wrapping his hands around it as soon as the ref lets him go. Their whole lives, their careers, every one of them waited for this moment. Some men never got it. His father had never achieved this. But he had scaled the mountain and the moment was his.

The one thing that mars it is that he doesn’t want it to be his alone.

That doesn’t detract from the sheer joy he feels as he raises the belt, hearing the noise, bathed in the lights. It is in the background, a wistfulness. The urgency of the moment allows him to feel only a pang.

And then he leaves the ring, theme tune playing over as he celebrates, elation genuine. He is the World Heavyweight Champion. This is his time.

As he walks through the curtains, the first thing he sees are blue eyes looking back at him, that beaming smile that he has grown to love so much. He returns it with his own and although there are many people around to give their own congratulations, no one questions when they hug; they have been friends for many years now. Only he can hear the words that are whispered into his ear:

"Baby, I am so damned proud of you."

Cody shut the door to his locker room, leaning against the frame, panting heavily.

Holy hell, he did it.

He had worked his ass off to get to this moment; spent ten years clawing his way to a permanent spot in the main event, but he had finally won the title.

He spared a glance down at the belt in his still trembling hands, slick with his own sweat and tears.

He couldn't believe it.

"Well, I must say: it's about time."

Ted came out from behind a row of lockers, eyes bright to match his goofy grin.

"...Teddy? How'd you get in here?"

Ted slowly made his way over. "Well, I still have some sway; not every bridge was burned after getting shit-canned."

"I'm still sorry about that. I made sure to do everything but kick and scream, and they still let you go."

Ted reached up to cup his cheek, smiling fondly. "I know Baby Boy, I know. But forget about that, you're the champion! Took 'em bastards long enough to pull the trigger, but you finally got it. Shame ya' had to be an old man before they did though."

Cody playfully nudged him away, "Who the fuck you calling old? I'm barely in my thirties. And still three years younger than you, may I add?"

"I don't know about that," Ted tilted his head toward him, face mockingly worried. "Is that crow's feet?"

"What?!" Cody furiously rubbed at the skin near his eyes, attempting to smooth down the offending wrinkles. He glared at Ted, smiling slightly.

"Alright Mister. Just for that, that bubbly ass of yours is getting the pounding if its life tonight."

Ted leaned down, placing a kiss on Cody's lips, "Whatever you want Champ."

For a moment Cody couldn't believe his eyes. Balloons and streamers
were scattered around their room and the dresser top was laden with
food and drink. In the middle of it sat a cake with a replica of his
title iced onto it. Taking a look around he could see no sign of Teddy
but it was clear that those absent hands had been far from idle. Once
the initial shock of the surprise had worn off he realised that he
could hear water running in the background. The wisps of steam
escaping from under the nearby door were evidence enough that the
amateur party planner was busy making his final preparations.

It hadn't been his intention to spoil the big reveal, in fact quite
the opposite. A photoshoot had been followed by a pre-tape for Raw
then interviews with the magazine and for dot com. He hadn't expected
to be back for at least another two or three hours and that was
clearly the timescale that Teddy was working on after their rushed
call earlier on in the day. With a wide smile on his face Cody eyed
the new shirt and jeans spread out on the bed and let his mind wander
to how they might look on Ted and then off again. It was only the
sudden silence that halted his train of explicit thought.

Immediately he headed for the door, careful to open it quietly and
slip out into the deserted corridor. As gently as his nervousness
would allow he closed the door behind him, the mechanism clicking
closed at what seemed like a million decibels. He strolled off,
intending to go for coffee and to check his emails; anything to pass
the time until he could return to be surprised all over again.

“God, baby! You finally did it. I’m so fucking proud of you!”

Ted enveloped his long-time friend and short-time lover into a tight hug as soon as the other came -beaming- backstage, WHC slung over his shoulder in proud display.

He’d been a nervous wrack throughout the whole match, though knowing that Cody would win still concerned for his well-being and the credibility of the outcome. But his boy had done great out there, literally stolen the show.

Pulling back to look into those beautiful, sparkling eyes, he saw the tears of joy still streaming down those flushed cheeks, and he was quick to remove Cody’s mask to carefully brush them away with his thumbs.

“Let’s get out of here and celebrate. The way you deserve it.”

It was a promise he’d already made his boyfriend when they’d gotten the script for tonight, a promise that had brought a gleam to Cody’s baby-blues and a mischievous grin to his cock-sucking lips. A promise he was ready to trade in.

An hour -and a few strong shots of Whiskey- later, he lay stark-naked on their bed, wrists trapped in fluffy pink handcuffs, cheeks brightly pink, knees bent obscenely. But the thing Cody would remember forever... were the pointy little ears Ted was sporting and the long, straight, blond hair spread all over the pillow as his lover threw his head back in ecstasy, screaming the name he’d be carrying for this night and this night only.

“Fuck, Link!”

“I can’t believe you did that!” mewed the blonde as though the world was ending.

“I said I was sorry already!” huffed the ravenette across the bed, rolling his eyes.

Ted pouted at Cody over his shoulder briefly as he inspected the pearlescent markings all over the gold plated championship belt that he had been in possession of for less than a day, his name partially obscured by the same sticky substance.

“You promised me you would be more careful Cody!” Ted chided, “Look at the state of it already!” he hoped he could get it clean before the show tomorrow.

Sighing, Cody extended his lithe body slowly and wriggled out from underneath the covers, crawling up behind his naked lover and wrapping his arms around his neck, “I said I’ll clean it, so give it here.” Ted turned his head and reluctantly handed the belt over, “Are you gonna use those baby-wipe things or somethin’?” Cody always carried stashes of the damn things in his luggage.

Before the question was even out of his mouth though he had already received his answer for Cody was licking the sticky sweetness from the belt with long, slow laps of his tongue--- and Ted was completely mesmerised.

Later he’d wonder why he was so surprised. After all, Cody thrived on doing things ‘differently’.

When the younger man finally stopped Ted was attempting to cross his legs to hide his renewed erection, but he gave up trying to hold back and bore Cody onto the bed for another celebratory round of love-making after his lover ‘innocently’ declared:

“I forget how whipped cream goes everywhere,” and licked a final smear of the confection from his lips and winked.

Title: Tracks of My Tears

The tears came the second the ref’s hand hit the mat for the third time. Not even the cold, seemingly heartless character known as Cody Rhodes was so good an actor that he could hide the genuine upwelling of emotions that man behind the character, Cody Runnels, felt as he was handed the World Heavyweight Championship.

In the back, tears came to another set of eyes, those of Ted DiBiase, Jr., as he watched Cody’s years and years of hard work finally pay off. He fought the urge to run to the ring to embrace his best friend and lover, knowing he would congratulate him the second he came backstage. His eyes remained glued to the TV screen as his still crying lover walked up the ramp, title clutched tightly to his chest, and exited to the back.

The first person Cody laid eyes upon was Ted, and a smile lit up his face, decorated with tear tracks. “Teddy,” was all he could manage to choke out.

Now Ted was able to give him that embrace he so desperately wanted to give him earlier. His arms wrapped around Cody’s shoulders, hands cradling behind his head. “I’m so proud of you, Cody,” Ted whispered, “so proud.” Pulling back a bit, dropping his hands to Cody’s shoulders, he took a look at the younger man. “So, what does the newest Champ want to do now?”

“Kiss you,” he answered, doing just that. He chuckled, pulling back and wiping more tears away. “And now I want to go back to the hotel room and spend the rest of my night alone with… my title.” At Ted’s pout, Cody smiled and said, “I’m kidding, Teddy. There’s no one else I’d rather spend my night celebrating with than you.” And then he kissed him again.

The young, handsome second generation superstar rejoiced as he held the gold up high, the penny-like face of the belt, and its red stones glittering in the many lanterns of the arena....finally, he could show all those doubting fuckers he was worth something! He was champ!

But there was the approval of only one who really mattered....his boyfriend and the love of his life. He waited in the ring. He'd been told by a maddeningly-secretive Steph to wait in the ring after the match ended...they'd planned a surprise for him.

The crowd's screams were interrupted by that familair "Whoaa" before that ominious music pounded through the arena.

Ted, the new WHC looked up in alarm as the Intercontinetal Champ and his boyfriend sauntered down, mask in place. The brunette unzipped his jacket, his own gold sparkling. Cody had a mic in his hand. Oh God.

But Cody was grinning. He climbed into to the ring and unclipped his acryclic mask.

And Ted found himself with arms full of ultra-proud Cody.....and two pouty lips hungrily kissing his...yeah in the middle of the ring in front of a screaming crowd.

Right there, in front of the entire Universe, Cody and Ted finally showed their love to the world.

"Can I have a standing ovation for your new World Heavyweight Champion?" Cody yelled into the mic, "Everyone please get on your feet, and join me in celebrating the success of my best friend...and partner...Ted DiBiase."

A while later, when their sweaty, spent bodies collapsed in a tangled heap on their hotel bed...

"Did you like my celebration for you?" Cody beamed, blue eyes sparkling.

"Loved it Baby boy, couldn't have asked for better."
