*applauds* Yay for season 5 fic :) And I also yay for your fic too, cos it's awesome. This really made me smile as Fawkes gathers information on Codex, determined not to make a mistake again. It feels very in character. I'm delighted by the conclusions he comes to and really hope he gets there. Love it, and you :) *hugs*
I loved this, and it made me smile too. Of course Fawkes, when he decided to strategize, would have to go about it in a pretentious and douchey way by constantly quoting Sun-Tzu to himself.
he can’t help be feel a tendril of guilt tighten in his stomach as he wonders if he’s the reason she’s like this...if he helped break her.
Awwww. I love the introspection here, and the irony that even as he's skulking around in a ridiculous identity-erasing costume, he's being forced to really look at himself and his shortcomings honestly, maybe for the first time. And I like him finally facing up to the fact that the way he treats women can have consequences.
I always love when we get to glimpse the real Fawkes beneath the bravado. Great job! :)
Aww! Thanks! I'm glad you liked it...and I'm glad you liked my characterization of Fawkes...I figured that is half his problem his incessant need to be right along with the fact that he wants to be surprised!
I love this take on furry!Fawkes. Of course he would go about getting her back in such a way that would need planning and pretencious quotes.
I like that he feels guilty for what he's put her through. He should feel guilty, and I'm glad he's willing to work to make it up to her. And that all he wants from this is equal love.
ooooh, this is perfect! you have fawkes' voice down cold, and i love seeing those little growing pains as he starts examining himself as well as codex. thanks for making me smile! <3

I'm also really happy it felt in character...because I always worry that my Fawkes won't be believable.

Hee! Exactly! I mean, Fawkes might change a bit for Codex but he's still going to be himself and that includes pretentious quotations all day long.
I'm so happy you liked it! I was feeling a bit unsure about it because Codex isn't even really in it...

Oh, sure she is! She may not have any dialogue but the whole fic is about her, really.

I'm so happy this came through! Because that's what I was hoping for...they both have to grow before they'll really be successful together.
