How freely could you walk around the place? I mean, if you had a grandstand seat, could you get closer to the action to take photos, mingle with other fanbois, and such?
Don't know about Montreal, but in Sepang there were different grandstand sections, each with differently priced tickets. Within the area of the same price bracket there was no restriction on movement. You can't go outside the stands to get close to the track.
I found myself a nice vantage point during Friday practice and stayed there the whole time on Saturday. Raceday was a bit difficult. There was > 90% occupancy and I was more interested in watching than shooting so I stayed put in my seat.
